Where is the best place to sell a used diamond ring in LA, so I do not get ripped off?
I have a diamond ring my father gave to my mother as a gift some 25 years ago. My mother passed it on to me 5 years ago my parents separated 15 years ago , but I do not like the setting at all and I could really use some cash to handle bills. I really don't know anything about jewelry, but my father said that it was real and cost a lot of money and to not just give it away. I am not in a rush to sell it and would like to sell it in a way so I get the most possible money. Can somebody tell me how to go about this and does anyone know a good place in Los Angeles to go to? Any tips on how I can make sure I do not get ripped off? Thank you

make a long story short......I was engaged....the girl turned out to be another young in her 20's b tch.....took the ring back and now I'm looking to sell it. I can't take it back to the store for a refund because it went out of business.....pawn shops won't give me the amount of actual money it's worth......the same goes for jeweler dealers, they are the same bullsh t as pawn shops. I was swimming in this lake, near San Diego, CA and I lost my engagement ring. It means a lot to me and I really want it back. We don t have an insurance anymore for it and we don t have homeowners insurance either. I tried calling some business that do metal detecting but they only do it on grass, sand etc . Any idea who could help me find it, underwater? Also I can t afford to pay a lot because we just had our first baby and we are saving to buy a house.
